I just moved out of LL Sam's. I spent two years there in a one-bedroom with a roommate one year and then alone the next. We liked the management, and they were usually pretty attentive. The appliances were definitely my favorite part. Only once did my washing machine break, and the maintenance man came to fix it in a few hours.

The only complaint I have is that the rent was too high for one person. But the electricty bills were never too high. The most I paid was $60 - running the AC a lot in July. The pool was fun, but there were always drunk guys out there in the summer.

As for the noise... I had to tell my neighbors to quiet down a few times, but they usually were having a pretty loud party, and if they turned down the music a few notches, I couldn't hear it anymore. And once I got tired of hearing Britney Spears blaring from next door in the middle of the day, so I had to go give the girl a piece of my mind.

Low electric bills like this mean you were lucky with a tiny place, with no windows. Everyone I know has over $150 a month bills.
