Aside from the various lies and deception by the management and the staff, our apartment was filled with roaches, a broken refridgerator(full of groceries), which took several days to be replaced and a constant stream of illegal behavior by the tenants. The management was aware of the problems occuring on the property and were reluctant to even offer help to my family. (I know they were aware of the happenings, as I informed them several times). My guest toilet was broken for over 4 weeks, and there were no blinds on my child?s window for 3 weeks and I was asked to have my husband fix them both. I was also told I would have to put cheap weather stripping on my door because the cold air was constantly comming in.(But I was asked not to tell the head manager the assistant manager wanted us to make the repairs). We were whitness to drug deals, a high speed police chase, which ended in the apartment below us with the police drawing their guns, we also were greeted several times with family violence and a total lack of security or concern by the management. This was also a "housing" complex, which I was not informed of.
I consider myself and my family extremly lucky to have found another place to live within the 2 and a half months we were there. It took the management over 3 weeks to get pest control to our apartment, after my telling them the roaches were in EVERYTHING. In a verbal agreement with the manager, I was told pest control and security were a part of their sevices, but the securtiy gate was out of order the entire time we were there and we never saw the security guard anywhere but by the office in his car, even when illegal activities were happening, including the high speed police chase mentioned earlier. The management was also aware of people violating their lease agreements and condoned these actions...even those on government assistance. I also NEVER recieved one of those inventory lists of all the things needing to be repaired upon move-in, two weeks later and with everything unpacked,I was told to write the things needing to be repaired down on paper, which I did (I did get a copy) but the assistant manager who was "helping" me was transfered to another property and I had no whitness.
I asked to be moved to the property she was transfered to because I was litterally scared for my family?s lives, but I was told the rent would be like $160.00 higher and there was only 1 bathroom, no storage and it was WAY smaller...they also said, in so many words, it was just as bad as where I already was.
In short, you would get more for your money at ANY local hotel, YMCA or shelter. Please don?t put yourself or your loved ones(even your worst enemy or ememies)through this kind of total abuse of power offered by the employees of La Mirage and La Mirage II.
And remember, all you immoral managers out there, whatever you put out, you get back 10 fold...
