The facilities are pretty decent compared to most places around here and I can understand the price due to the location near Baylor University. Most things have gone quite well and all major appliances have been fixed. I understand that maintenance cannot do everything, and it is unfair to expect them to do so. There are many units in the complex that have problems everyday, and we as tenants should fix minor things like burnt out light bulbs and window blinds. Before the new management, the maintenance guys were quite punctual and did things in a timely fashion. As of late, however, the new maintenance men are probably overworked and underappreciated by both the management and tenants. It's the leasing office that is the biggest problem, as they say one thing or promise one thing but do another; they are very unprofessional. I was not shown the actual model before leasing out my particular unit, so that came as a surprise. In addition, I have heard from a friend of mine that a handicapped tenant was told by the leasing office that the facility was handicap accessible, but it was not. Nevertheless, she signed the lease thinking that it was handicap accessible. The management staff also did not tell anyone that just a few weeks ago the ownership of Rivercrest changed hands from Village Green to a different company. We as the tenants were not informed of this and we have a right to know. Had I known about the imminent change in management/ownership beforehand, I would have bypassed this apartment. I've always tried my best to be civil with the managers, maintenance staff, and other tenants at every place I've lived at, but such blatant lying and withholding information from honest tenants must not be tolerated. If such a thing happens again, I'll make sure to contact the Better Business Bureau of Waco, which the owner of Rivercrest(whoever it is) is almost certainly not affiliated with. *note: rent ends in 2006
