Village Oaks is on campus for TSTC and at tstc you pretty much HAVE to live on campus your first year. I choose to live there because the apartments looked much nicer than the other on campus apartments. Two of my roommates were very cool, but the other was a constant problem. He had been in jail all summer long before getting out and coming to live at village oaks and going to TSTC. We had a non-smoking apartment because the three of us don?t smoke. He smoked in our apartments all the time. Cigarettes and weed. We told the staff but they said they couldnt do anything unless they could catch him doing it and by the time they got there everytime we called he had alrady quit. After a couple of months they finally moved him out. A few weeks later one of his new roommates turned up missing. A couple of weeks passed by the kid was found dead and he was charged for murder. Needless to say i moved back home.



Other than the bad experience there the apartments were okay. My apartment and my friends apartments were clean when we moved in and everything worked. Small things were wrong like burns on the countertop in the kitch. I didnt write it down and they didnt give me my deposit back. If you have to work late its hard to get a parking spot close to your apartment. Staff was cool while you're living there as long as you weren?t drinking or making alot of noise. But they will screw you in the end Very quiet. Gated but the front gates never worked the whole first semester i was there. Everything is paid except electricity and cable. Power goes out alot. Didn't feel safe at all. Saw drug deals in the parking lot. I was always being asked when walking through the parking lot if i had weed or knew where they could get some. There was a drive by shooting and several rapes while i was there. Maintenance sucks! I never had to have anything fixed but several of my friends did and it took an act of congress to get ---- done around there.
