This was the first place my wife and I lived when we got married in July of 1975. It was spotless and had the cleanest nicest pool in town. I was an SP and my wife was a medic at the base. Mr. and Mrs. Haynes were the managers back then. They were wonderful.We would have dinner at each others apts. Mrs. Haynes even taught my wife to cook a little.We even stopped in and visited with them after we were stationed at other bases. Like everything we got caught up in raising a family and forgot about it until we got Virtual Earth Maps a few weeks back. One of the first places we checked was to see if Villa Madrid was still there.Thank goodness it is. We are older now and will be retiring in a few years. It would be nice to stop in and stay a few weeks or months later on. We will check with management and see.Well we have been married to each other for going on 34 years now. I believe they had good managers back then and probably have good mgt. now. It may be good luck for newlyweds to stay here for a year or so.
