So this is my last week here, and I have numerous reasons for not staying..
1. Goldstone Place has the worst staff and customer/tenant service I've ever had to deal with. Snotty, rude, and completely fraudulant.
2. We went without heat for all of November and December, because the maintenence couldn't tell us how to turn on the crappy heated floors.
3. We had ants everywhere.
4. The swamp cooler leaked dirty water, and therefore left rust on the floor, that I'm sure they will charge us for.
5. They wanted us to sign another lease that would have raised our rent $150. The rent we're paying to live their now isn't worth the hassle.
6. They don't abide by the lease policy. They tried to tell us that the pet deposit wasn't a deposit at all, instead it cost me $300 to 'register' my dog with their apartment. They also tried to fine us for a policy that they told us would get a pre-warning, and on second offense, we would be fined. We never got a warning.. they just told us to pay them the $50 fine.
7. Upon a 'curteousy' call, to make sure we would be moving out on time, they threatened us with all sorts of damages, that we would have to pay for. My concern was how would they even know these damages existed unless they had been in our apartment without our consent. They told us we would have to pay for the carpet to be replaced, which the carpets in our apartment are now stainless and odorless, and this is even before the professional cleaners have done their part.
They think they can get away with this kind of treatment. They just want your money in the end, and that's it.
Just goes to show that Utah needs to instill some Renter's rights.
