Goldstone Place Apartments
AVERAGE RATING

We moved here from out of state suddenly and weren't quite sure what we were getting into, we needed a pet friendly community and goldstone was one of our only options.
I only want to state facts during our experience here so you can form your own opinion:
*Had items stolen while we were moving in
*Very little storage space in the apartment, there aren't any storage closets and we had to be creative storing both every day things we use like towels and blankets, and seasonal items.
*Everytime the neighbors vacuumed or argued we could hear them, walls seem pretty thin here. For us, our neighbors liked to vacuum and argue very late at night!
*The grounds seemed to be well kept, however this is one of the only pet friendly communities in this area...which means dog waste all over the grass, pet owners don't seem to pick up after them often, as it turns to fall, maintenance doesn't cut grass as often, so the pet waste really piles up.
*Found ants coming out from under carpet, which was also terribly stained upon move-in
*We didn't want to pay an extra $10.00 a month for a covered parking space since almost immediately after moving in, we heard complaints of people parking in other peoples spot, this meant we had a heck of time finding a parking space. The closest 5 spaces to our place did not have lines, and as a result, half the time people didn't park correctly meaning there were really only 4 spaces available.
*No washer/dryer hook-ups, we didn't realize how inconvenient this would be in our situation. Washers seemed small, and with 2 adults and a baby we paid ATLEAST $40.00 a month in laundry.
*There is only one vent in the apartment, it comes down directly down from the ceiling, when the air is on during the summer, it blows down and cools one spot and the air doesn't reach the bedrooms. In the winter the apartment DOES stay nice and toasty with no air at all.
*$25.00 cable bill was tacked on to our monthly base rent and we were told it's not an option, we had to pay it.
*As I said, we moved here out of state so we aren't sure what the average utility bill is, the $135 or whatever it was that is also added to our rent monthly seemed a bit much, especially since we rarely used the air and we don't have w/d in the unit. We'd rather live somewhere we pay our own utilities so we can better regulate what we spend each month.
*I have to say the staff has always been friendly with us. We had some repairs that needed to be done upon move-in and they sent maintenance out quickly...one problem was never fixed correctly, but we learned to deal with it. SEk1KnECheF1ATXbXtrZ

This is a great, useful review. You hit the nail right on the head. We just moved out and I echo your sentiments completley! Everything you said sounds like our experience. The stealing, laundry expenses, crazy hot bedroom in the summer (yes, the winters are nice and cozy though!) Have you noticed all the positive reviews are getting more positive ratings? We should rate these honest reviews better... do you have the hunch that the apartment staff is coming in and doing that?
