Nice pool and environment, but don't get screwed when you move

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2005
Things went fairly well while we were living there and the maintenance staff was good about taking care of problems. However, when we moved, we cleaned the apartment, rented a carpet cleaner because we did have a cat, yet we still lost our entire cleaning deposit. We tried to schedule a walk-through numerous times and the management kept putting it off. I felt we should have gotten back our deposit for the amount of work we put into cleaning up the apartment.
