My advice to anyone out there looking for a comfortable place to live where they can feel secure in their rent payments and feel like they can trust their managers - don't move to North Pointe! The management person who showed us around North Pointe gave us faulty information about the amenities of the unit we were looking at. I don't know why the management person lied to us, maybe they just made a mistake. In either case, the fact that we chose that apartment based on false information was unacceptable. When we signed our lease, we saw that our rent rate could be changed under certain circumstances. We didn't worry about it too much, and signed the lease. That was a big mistake. There was no way to get out of the lease, and they did raise our rent - shortly after we moved in.
