ive lived here for almost 4 months. i love the location of my apartment, its in the back corner of a back building, very private. it was in fair condition when i moved in. the appliances are ancient, but still work well...except the dishwasher. no microwave. new tile in the kitchen and bathroom which was nice. and the carpet was in great condition. the heating and a/c work very well considering the vents are in the ceiling. i am being charged waaaaay to much though. 680 for a 1 bed. including water, sewer and trash. and i have to pay my own power and gas. and they require renters insurance, too. which isnt bad. like 11 bucks a month. there are much cheaper, nicer places! i was just in a rush to find a place to live, and this is very close to family and friends.
parking is a joke!!! i have my covered spot, but its across the parking lot from my building. my friends come over and have to park a mile away. the day i moved in, my friend parked in the fire lane, and they towed his car! the have faded red paint where the lanes are, and there was snow on the ground so he couldnt see. they look like actual spots, and there are no signs to tell you not to park there. my cousins car was towed too, and she wasnt even in the fire lane! so beware.
about a week after i moved in, i cracked the bowl of my toilet, by knocking the lid off onto it....spilling water everywhere. maintence came about 10 minutes after i reported it, which was cool. they didnt have a toilet in stock, so they didnt replace it till the next day, which was fine. but the guys who came in and took the old one out were very rude. it was an accident and he talked to me like i did it intentionally. and i overheard him telling the other guy that he "isnt working until she gets this damn mess cleaned up", which i understand...but it was an accident! and they did a shotty job installing the new one.
my apartment almost got broken into as well. when i told the office they said that it was probably just some random drunk person who couldnt find his right apartment. bull ----!!! someone tried to pry my door open with a crowbar!! i am a 20 year old girl living alone, and they showed no concern and offered nothing to help me feel safe again. even a chain lock would have helped.
the noise from my upstairs neighbors is terrible too. they go outside to smoke a lot, and i can hear everytime they open and close their balcony door. they often drop things, that sends a loud boom throughout my place, that scares me lol. i can hear them walking around occasionally, and the echo from them walking up and down the stairs outside is horrible.
