Yo!

Overpriced for all the maintenance needed.

I have lived at pinehurst for about 4 months now. The apartment is absolutely beautiful. I love the garage, the 9 foot deep walk-in closet, the 9 foot ceilings, the crown molding, and the carpet.

However, the amount of maintenance my apartment has needed in these 4 months is ridiculous. When I first moved in I was missing my microwave and four lightbulbs, my toilet was clogged, and my refrigerator was dripping water everwhere. I stopped by the office and let them know, and they sent someone over within ten minutes. The maintenance guy brought over the microwave and lightbulbs, and fixed the toilet (temperarly, I had to call about 3 more times after that. It finally works now though), and he told me that I had too much stuff in my freezer, which was causing the problem with the refrigerator. I had two frozen pizzas and a pint of ice cream... I don't feel like that was to much for a freezer that size. The refrigerator still has that same problem and I keep hearing the same thing from maintenance. There were also several outdoor lights that were burned out when I moved in. I called maintenance about it, and was told that they were working on putting longer lasting bulbs in and had to wait for them to be delivered. It took about 3 weeks. It was almost pitch black around my door and I was terrified coming home at night. It's bright now, and I feel very safe.

It got pretty hot during the summer and I noticed a cooling problem. The central air was set to automatically stop when it reached the desired temperature. It was always about 10 degrees over, the air conditioner never stopped trying. My electric bill ended up being $140 for a 712 sq. ft. apartment. A bit pricy... I called the office. They sent someone out right away, and he found that my air conditioner was completely out of freon, strange because there was no way it could have leaked out. The A/C works perfectly well now.

When we moved in, we were told that if a lightbulb ever went out, we could call and have it replaced free of charge. My light in my garage went out shortly after I moved in. I stopped by the office on my way back from the fitness center (which is the greatest) and let the office woman know that I needed a lightbulb replace. She said she would send someone, I waited a week, nothing. I called the office, and talked to the same one. Someone was promised to come and replace it. Still, nothing for about 3 days. I called again. They finally sent someone. When I talked to the office woman, I told her (all three times) that they only had permission to enter the garage and that I would leave the door unlocked. They came into my apartment while I was sleeping, came into my room to wake me up and ask where the light was. I woke up to a stranger in the doorway of my bedroom. I called the office to complain and she told me that because some of the garages were only acessable through the apartments he may have been confused. Maybe I'm wrong to assume this, but I would think that someone working here would know which apartments did and which did not. Just looking at the buildings, I am able to figure out which are attatched and which are not.

It has cooled off a bit now that we're in October, and we have started to use our heater. I turned it on only to find freezing cold air coming from all of the vents. For probably the 20th time since I've lived here I called maintenance. They came after about an hour, and simply opened a valve. It works fine now.

The maintenance man that I've dealt with on most occasions is very friendly and perfessional, and most of the office ladies are as well. If not for the very unprofessional maintenance man I met in my bedroom, and the office woman that takes 2 weeks to relay a message, I would give the staff a perfect score.

Overall I feel like there are too many things going wrong in my apartment for me to be paying nearly $900 dollars a month for a 712 sq. ft. one bedroom apartment. Yeah, the smallest one is almost $900 a month. It is $879/mo (we pay an extra $40/mo for our garage) plus $11.38/mo for renter's insurance (required to move in, and available through the management) so it ends up being $890.23 each month. Thank God we have no pets, that's another $300 dollar deposit, and an extra $15/mo.
