A disappointment

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
Twice I had eviction notices posted on my door because they couldn't be bothered to verify which notices were legit... I am set up for automatic rent payment and always have sufficient funds to pay.
The day I moved in, I noticed pet stains on the carpet & asked for it to be replaced (it looks like really cheap carpet anyway). It was cleaned, still visible, then they had the bright idea to dye the carpet... as if covering up the stain is acceptable. The people who dyed the carpet turned the air conditioning down to 60 to dry it out, on the day I was leaving town for 4 days. Had I not caught this, I would've been paying to operate a meat locker for half a week.
Within a month of moving in, the smoke detector started beeping during the middle of the night. The screw holding the dishwasher in place fell out...
The front gates have not worked since I moved in, although I was told they'd be operational by the end of July and was even given a device to open them.
The hot water heater barely supplies enough water for a 10 minute shower at a comfortable temperature. After two attempts at getting this resolved, I gave up.
There is very little storage, in both the kitchen and the closets.
The Christmas "present" from the management was an air filter outside my door, at any previous apartment where I've lived, I wasn't responsible for performing my own maintenance, especially at $700/month.
Twice since I've been here, the electricity has failed for the complex while every building/business around still had power. Management didn't know why.
None of these things by themselves would be detrimental, and I know I've focused only on the negative because that is what was memorable, but I expect more from an apartment for which I'm paying my hard earned money.
With the number of problems I found upon move-in, it was almost like they were using me as free labor to determine what was wrong with the apartment. I would have been embarrassed to rent an apartment to someone in such condition.
I've run into the employees outside of the apartment complex & been ignored (as if I hadn't been seen), and the level of competence displayed in my interactions with them in the office was not what I would expect from people responsible for the operations of such a large complex.
This apartment appears to suffer from mediocrity and apathy, and for those reasons I cannot recommend it to a prospective renter.
