This is absolutely the worst apartment in which I have ever lived. The Wasatch Group which owns this complex has some of the most draconian and money grubbing practices I have ever encountered. At every turn you will be nickled and dimed. If you wish to pay your rent electronically, there is a fee and I believe this is in place to discourage people from paying in this fashion so that late fees can be collected. Also, their "security deposit" is misleading. You will be charged X ($300 when I signed up) but you will only get back Y ($125) when you leave. This is because of an application fee they wrap into this initial expense. If you need to add someone to the lease, you will be charged. If you want a parking stall, you will be charged. You will be forced to purchase renters insurance.
Miserable Experiences...
* Someone broke their mail boxes and for four months I had to go to the post office to pick up my mail. The post office blamed The Remington, the Remington blamed the post office. Frankly, I believe the Post Office.
* The security gates were always broken. Sure, malicious individuals broke the gates, but boy did the Remington drag it's heels on repairing it.
* Simple fixes were never performed. I asked and was told every time I asked for something to be fixed in the apartment that it would be. Not once did a repairman show up. Not once! The stoves were the most dangerous thing they never repaired as the cheap oven had unstable burners. You put a pot on a burner and there was always the threat of it sliding into the floor.
* Tiny does not begin to define the kitchen. There is absolutely no counter space, you can't open the refrigerator and the dishwasher at the same time. Speaking of the dishwasher, I hope you enjoy washing your dishes before running them through the washer. That will be the only way you can get your dishes clean.
* Noisy neighbors. Your neighbors will be noisy. Most of the illegals to whom Remington rent to seem to be incapable of getting out of their cars and knocking on the doors of the other illegals they're picking up. Instead, they will sit in their cars blasting their mariachi music and honk their horns until their pick up comes out. This will go on at all hours of the day and night. Also, be prepared to enjoy the sounds of glass packs as there are a lot of men living in this place who are apparently trying to compensate for a lack of something in the form of big noisy trucks.
* Nasty neighbors. The illegals I lived next door to enjoyed spitting phlegm on the stairs. Others enjoyed leaving bags of trash and discarded food on the stairs and walk ways and on what passes for the place's lawn. Also, neighbors enjoyed having their dogs take their dumps in non designated areas. Real swell group of people, let me tell you.
* Boogers on the walls. I kid you not, there were boogers on the walls and ceiling of my bedroom.
* Mold. The windows had a peculiar propensity for growing mold. I was told to just wipe it off by staff (Levi).
* DO NOT HAVE AN EMERGENCY THAT KEEPS YOU FROM PAYING YOUR RENT ON TIME! You will have no sympathy from the people in the front office. You will simply be told "I'm sorry, I can't do anything about it, let me let you speak to so and such..." who will then tell you the same thing and still slap you with an egregious late fee. Tony Soprano would be more flexible and understanding to a degenerate gambler than these folks. Ah, perhaps this sounds like the whining of a degenerate tenant - I had a spotless payment record until my last month when, on the weekend I was moving out, ended up in the emergency room praying for someone to put a bullet in me due to a severe infection. Needless to say, getting these crooks their money was not my top priority, but the check was in the mail a couple of days later - but by then the jolly robbers had already slapped a notice on my door that I needed to vacate or pay them their inflated rent.
Please dear reader, if you've made it this far - STAY AWAY FROM REMINGTON APARTMENTS and any apartment complex owned by the parent company. These people deserve to have their business falter and crumble for their immoral and unethical business practices.

Also note that most of the positive posts you'll find on this site are most likely posted by the Remington staff. Do NOT believe anything positive about this place, it just isn't true.

What a moron. Remington has to prove they are legal! Just because they are Mexican or another race, doesn't mean they are automatically illegal. Get your facts straight. Did you actually go to them and ask if they were legal. I know this, because it says on the papers that they give us before we sign the lease that we must provide any valid ID, and that a consolate ID (including a Mexican ID or driving privilege card isn't allowed. I read it, but it looks like you didn't. That's your own damn fault. I can't blame Remington, because I used to work for another apartment community, and we had so many stupid excuses of why people wouldn't pay rent on time from "I forgot what day it was" to "my bird died" (yes, these were a couple of actual excuses)! If you have a doctor's note or even a hospital bill, they will excuse you. We did when one of our tenants was in the hospital. People will say ANYTHING to get out of their rent! The managers don't have any proof of whats true or not! For the record, I have lived at Remington for 7 months and I have loved it and never have problems (besides the partying neighbors upstairs). I don't know if you were the one who posted the response to your own remark, but if was you, it doesn't look like anyone agrees with you! So before you post your idiotic remarks, get your facts straight and stop whining!

To the anonymous person who felt the original author was a moron: you truly have nothing worth saying if name calling is your first best retort. With regards to renting to illegal aliens, surely they would never provide forged or stolen documents. No, certainly not. They certainly wouldn't have a legal resident help them get into a place under false pretense. My goodness, the Remington's documents and requirements really are iron clad and stop all sorts of stuff like that from happening.
And really, what resident of the Remington is going to be monitoring this site for negative posts about the place beyond a member of the office or grounds staff? I think the original author was spot on in pointing out that posts in defense of this complex are most likely submitted by Remington employees!
You, sir or madam, need to get your facts straight and realize that the Remington has some serious problems with which it needs to contend.

I had the EXACT same problems. Mr. Anonymous #1 wrote on my review that the mailboxes were only down for 3 weeks...not a month! haha. Someone works for the wasatch group. What an idiot he is!
