Do Not Live Here....Worst Experience Ever!!

My husband and I lived in Remington for 18 months while he was finishing school. For someone who is going to school, it was a good place to live. But I would definately not want to make that my permanent place of residence. For our needs at the time it was a good place to live.
Our neighbors all smoked and, as non-smokers, it was a pain because the smell would drift up into our apartment. When we moved in, our carpet had dog hair all over it and pet stains. They "claimed" it had been cleaned. Whenever we had problems, it would take weeks for the maintenance crew to come fix the problem. They would never show up when they said they would. We lived on the top floor and the stairs in the winter would crumble and it took them 6 months to replace them. The old managers and maintenance crew would smoke in the mail room.
About half-way through our stay, we got new managers. They were a big improvement, but still not the greatest. When it came time to move out they started charging us for everything they could think of. The old managers charged us for having our own washer and dryer. And if my husband hadn't talked to them about our contract this would have never been found. They are very careless with their books. They gave my husband the run around. We had all of our stuff moved out a few days before the end of our contract so we could be responsible tenants and clean the apartment. The morning our contract ended the let themselves into our apartment and took the keys we had left on the counter. They will take you for everything you are worth.
Once your contract is up and you want to go month to month, they will raise your rent to the current market rate and charge you an additional $150.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. They have a night patrol, but he does not help with anything. We had to call the cops twice because our downstairs neighbors woke us up at 4:30 in the morning with their loud music. They would turn it on and then leave.

Most of this stuff doesn't sound like the management's fault. To be honest with you.
