I moved in over a year ago, and I initially thought this place wouldn't be that bad. The girls in the office were nice, they were courteous, and very helpful in getting moved in.
But once they get your signature, holy ----. Prepare for the time of your life. When it started getting hot, we couldn't get our a/c to work. It would just blow hot air all the time. After three work orders and physically visiting the office several times, they "looked at it" and claimed it was fixed, but it was still broken. So I finally yelled at them to fix it, or lower or rent, and told them specifically to check the coolant. Sure enough, the a/c guy was here for five minutes and it's worked fine since.
Guess you just have to tell the maintenance people how to do their job, to get it done right.
Then our balcony railing broke, and it looks like it was just cheaply put together, because it broke where there SHOULD have been a solid piece of metal. So it had obviously been broken once before and re-soldered. And our sink barely is attached. Whenever I turn on the faucet, the whole fixture shifts several inches to either side and almost pulls clean out of the sink.
Recently, they had the driveways and parking lots repaved, and drew a TERRIBLE hand-drawn map indicating when they would be doing the tarring. The office was nowhere on that map, so I assumed I was safe. Boy, was I wrong. They lied up and down that they were out in the morning knocking on doors to remind us, which is funny, because myself and three roommates were in the living room from 7 A.M. - 10 A.M. and didn't hear a single peep on the door. Then my car got towed by Heritage, their EXCLUSIVE towing company, and it cost me $200 to get my car out of impound. If that's not the most suspicious thing I've ever heard. And the lady at the office yelled at me up and down that they couldn't do a thing about it, because it was my own damn fault my car got towed.
I thought I put my vehicle description on the lease so it WOULDN'T get towed. You know, so that they know it's MY car and to contact me if it needs to be moved.
I wonder how much of that $200 impound the office gets each time they have a car towed. Especially for an exclusive contract.
Here's my advice. Don't EVER move here. The ladies in the office don't give a ----, and if you look at the Utah Dept. of Commerce Website, Hunters Woods operated without a business license for nearly a year. It expired November 2007, and they didn't renew it again until June. Not fishy at all.
