Calling it quits!

We're out of here! It was nice at first when we moved in a couple years ago, but we've just watched the neighborhood go to pot. All the good people moved out and all the bad people moved in.
PARKING: I've had to replace $800 worth of motorcycle tires because there is always some booze hound that breaks a beer bottle in the parking lot. I've seen many people throw trash out of their windows. I've even had a guy puke in my parking stall, splashing on my car when the grass was right there (while his girlfriend was throwing plastic wrappers out her window). People always park in the handicap spots. My Dad is in a wheelchair with ALS and couldn't visit three times just because of that. And what's with people parking backwards'! They can never park straight. They're always over the line. My, and several other cars were broke into a few times, so we got an alarm and the first night we were called and asked by the management to turn it off. Someone once reported my daily driver as an abandoned car and almost got towed. Luckly those people moved out.
NOISE: We don't have any personal problems with other tenants there, never butted heads with anyone, but we've called the management on the people that moved in above us three times in the first month and a half they moved in, and they did nothing. They would stomp around from morning until morning...it's like they never went to bed. This was not typical walking around, it sounded like there was a fire and they were going from room to room to put it out. It would wake us up at three or four every morning for months on end. I could hear the girl upstairs crying and yelling over the phone everyday for almost a year. It calmed down for quite a while and then in the past four months they are down each other's thoats every night. Yelling and carrying on for HOURS. This last month about 3:30am we thought one of them was going to kill the other. The noise was horendous! I've never heard a fight that bad before. We called the sheriff just for their safety and they stopped...after it took the police forever to get him to open the door. But once the cops left, they were at it again. It really made me think what kind of people are moving here'!
GROUNDS: Great grounds. Well manicured...minus the dog poop. We have a dog and clean up after her with a pooper scooper. We thougt we'd be nice and clean up after everyone else until one day we were threated with a $50 fine if we didn't clean up after her. We thought that was BS so we now just clean up hers and no one elses. Now it's everywhere. Even people from around the neighborhood come let their dogs poop everywhere and I don't stop them. It's not my job. And to those with your nasty little rats you call dogs...poop is poop. No matter how big they are. CLEAN IT UP!!
SAFETY: People are always jiggling our door knob at night so we went out and bought a .40cal handgun. The only reason you're safe here is because there are cops in the parking lot dealing with tenants all the time...you be the judge.
CONSTRUCTION: Pretty good.
MAINTENANCE: Don't think about getting this fixed. We had three or four little jobs we asked them to fix. We had an appointment and they never showed up...that was a year ago. But the funny thing is, they did an 'annual' inspection (that we haven't had before) and give everyone a two day warning that they're coming, but never told us out of the two days when they're coming and if they've come. They asked us to put our pet in the bedroom. Yeah right. I'm not locking a great dane in a tiny bedroom for two days while I'm at work, not knowing when they're coming. Appearantly they came...and left my sliding door unlocked. I'm on the first floor, so you can probably tell that didn't make me very happy.
STAFF: Is awesome! Really nice people!
OVERALL: I would recommend it, if you're not worried about how much you're spending for something you'll never own. The only thing I got out of living here was paying $800 a month for a place to sleep. The 24 hour gym was nice. But when snobby girls are kicking you off the treadmill, it's pointless since you can't exercise. The pool is alright, but I don't want the entire complex watching me swim. And who knows what goes in the hot tub. We decided to move out fairly recently to find a house. We are now paying LESS for a newly remodled, four bedroom, three bathroom house per month. This place is okay, but it made me realize how much out pockets were gettin sucked out being there. All in all...not worth the money.
