The worst apartment complex ever!

Country Springs has to be the worse apartment complex I have dealt with over the years! There is no security whatsoever. Only about 50% of the lighting actually works in the complex. You are required to pay $15/month extra for a carport even if you don't use one. My furnace broke in the middle of winter, and I was told I would have to wait until the 1 maintanence man could fit me in even though I told them I had two baby girls at home. I ended up waiting almost two weeks, and the only thing the management told me was to use more blankets! The office staff does not listen to your complaints. The complex is supposed to be smoke free, but people are allowed to smoke right outside your door because "it is too hard to enforce or evict someone for smoking"!! When it was warm enough, I took my daughter to the park within the complex and found that the salt used to melt the sidewalks had been dumped into the sandbox. When I told the office management, I was told that the salt was highly toxic and that I should watch my kid more carefully to make sure she doesn't eat it and that there was nothing they could do about it. And by the way, there is a clause in the lease that says you must give them a 60 day notice of moving out of your apartment even if it is at the end of the lease. My friend was planning on moving out at the end of his lease, but was forced to pay for two months after his lease ended because he didn't give them the 60 day notice. This is the worst apartment complex ever and his managed by the worse staff ever (mainly TAMMY)! It is so bad that 17 units are moving out this August (we were actually told that we COULDN'T move out in August because they already have too many people moving out!). Outrageous!

I would recommend you talk to someone about pressing charges. The renter's rights of Utah are very strict and so far the furnace problem alone is grounds for that. It's illegal for a furnace to be broken in an apartment complex even in the summer. And, believe it or not, under the Clean Air Act it's illegal to smoke within 25 feet of any doorway unless it's a bar or other independent smoking establishment. And it is the MANAGEMENT'S responsibility to salt the walkways during the winter, not leave it up to the tenants to dump into the childrens' sandbox. What a bunch of crap! I wish you the best with these endeavors. We were truly screwed by them as well.
