Nice look, but very poor quality apartments.

My husband and I live in Greenbriar Apartments - next to and managed by Courtside. We haven't had any trouble with the management, and maintenance is prompt and helpful. There is always plenty of parking and the free internet and cable is nice (although we only get 10 channels). However, I definitely agree with the other complaints mentioned. While the apartments generally appear nice, the actual building materials are very poor quality. The linoleum flooring is peeling and bubbling. The interior doors are made of hollow particle-type board and are peeling apart. Maintenance tried to fix that by driving a screw through both layers - meaning it is sticking out one side and I catch my finger on it sometimes. The walls seem like they are not insulated at all. My son's room has the sound of perpetual thunder from people going up and down the stairs outside. Our room borders the neighbors' bedroom. It is very uncomfortable to clearly hear daily conversations and initimacy. The upstairs plumbing runs through our livingroom wall so we (and any company we may have) hear loud rushes of water every time our upstairs neighbors flush the toilet. I also have to agree with other complaints about the laundry facility. Half the washers and dryers haven't worked for the past year we have been here, some are even filled with dirty brown water and muck. We routinely spread our clothes out all over the livingroom to dry - after going through the dryer. While we have been willing to put up with these issues because the rent was so cheap ($599 a month for 2 bedroom when we bought out the end of a 2006-2007 contract), come August rent will cost almost $700 a month, and this place just isn't worth it. Especially if we consider the $14 our family spends for poor quality laundry facilities a week.
