Incompetent Management

I lived in this complex for a year and moved out at the end of July. I will say I was satisfied with the apartment while living there, because it's relatively new and was a good price when I moved in. It has since gone up a great deal, but you can likely say the same for every apartment complex. Overall, it is likely about average and possibly worth it.
The complaints about smokers are absolutely right! One of the "selling points" was the idea of living in a non-smoking building. But all of my neighbors smoked, and they smoke right on the stairs so that you have to crawl over them to get into your apartment and you can't open the windows without strong whiffs. Management's solution to the cigarette butts is to mass distribute warnings of $25 dollar fees per butt found. As far as I know, this was never enforced because smoking continues.
My main complaint however is the incompetent and/or fraudulent people in the office. Twice while living there I've gotten nasty notes on my door about a phony "late fee." Now, I'm prone to forgetting that it is the beginning of the month, so I pay a month in advance to avoid any possibility of a late fee. When I went to the office to ask about these, the late fees had miraculously disappeared! At the least it is ridiculous, but it is increasingly suspicious.
Upon moving out, I sent a check in the mail for my last month of utilities and carpet cleaning (because apparently they forgot to mention when I moved in that my deposit was only $150 because I would be paying for carpet cleaning after moving out). Today I received another nasty letter informing me that I still owe this bill and will be sent to collections if I don't pay up. Could it be a mistake' Was the check lost in the mail' No, I checked my online bank statement, including the scanned checked with the "Pleasant Springs" endorsement stamp on the back, cashed on September 9th. Again, at the least it is an indication of incompetent office staff. But I'm beginning to wonder if they send this out to people hoping they will not notice and just pay twice! If you move into this complex, beware.

I agree with this statement. Watch your Bank account like a Hawk! while living here!!
We were double charged for carpet cleaning, replacing things throughout the apartment, those random "late fees" ... etc. Its a joke. Watch your bank account. there are some very suspicious people in the office.

I agree with what you're saying about the INCOMPETENCE in the management office. You still recommend this place thought. Why? I just wish I had read these BEFORE I decided to rent here!
