Office Ladies Beware

Terrible office staff! When you meet them in person, all of the office staff seem pleasant and friendly, but there's more than meets the eye - they are the shadiest bunch of landlords I have ever had the displeasure of renting from. They consistently "lose" things - contracts foremost.

When I first attempted to move into the apartment complex I bought it directly off of a tenant who posted the apartment on Craig's List. Together we signed the "Contract Transfer Agreement" and turned the paperwork into the office. A few days later I called back and asked a few questions about moving in and the office staff pretended that they didn't know who I was and that the apartment I had just signed the "Contract Transfer Agreement" for had been sold to someone else. They tried to be nice and told me that they could look at renting out a different apartment. I was sick of it and told them to look around for my contract and that I would be calling back in a few minutes. A few minutes later I called back and, conveniently, no answer. I decided to take matters into my own hands and pay them a visit. The moment I walked into the door, the office staff lady pulled a document from the drawer of her desk and said, "I just found it!" Oh... Right.

The same problem happened when we were moving out of Cambridge. We posted the apartment on Craig's List and had the people who were going to rent our apartment sign the "Contract Transfer Agreement." We took the contract to the office and told them to make a copy (so we could keep tabs on our own documents). A few days after we moved out I called a friend of mine who happened to be a resident manager at Cambridge and he told me the sad story of a couple who thought they were moving into Cambridge Court only to find that the apartment they were going to rent was already occupied by someone else. That couple just so happened to be the couple that I had sold my contract to! The office staff told the couple that my wife and I didn't actually turn in the "Contract Transfer Agreement." Good thing I kept my copy of the transfer agreement. I plan on fighting for the couple who bought my contract and bringing down Cambridge Court's corrupt office staff.

Oh, one more thing. Beware apple pie. Cambridge Court brings by apple pie at Christmas time, but they break into your apartment and leave it on your table. Just make sure that you're dressed while lounging around your apartment during the month of December.

Oh, one last thing. The snowplow that plows the upper parking lot tagged the right side of our car. Park downsatirs... always.
