Great Place, Great Staff, Much Noise

The ammenities are spectacular: the pool, hot tub, sauna, basketball hoop, tennis court, laundries, etc., and the office staff was very nice and professional It's really a great deal for the price you pay. Some units have a washer and dryer, some don't. Some also have gas fireplaces with pilot lights you need to keep an eye on, some don't.
I lived here for about seven months before I had to move out of state for work. I paid my rent on time every time, and the office staff was very responsive to any questions or problems I had. I know this is a shock to some people, but they expect you to pay your rent, and will not give you much leniency if you're an obnoxious or late tenant. They won't be rude, but they're not about to give you a free ride, and it seems many of my neighbors felt entitled to one.
For example, I had a problem with my neighbors below me, who would make lots of noise all day and late into the night (TVs and music on all the time, and shouting in Spanish). I rang their bell to ask them politely to quiet down, but the guy who answered said he didn't speak any English and seemed angry like that was my fault. This was a recurring problem, so I met with the property manager about it, and within a couple of weeks the neigbors below me were moved to another unit elsewhere on the premises, which I apprecaited. While they were among the few who didn't speak English, they weren't the only ones not concerned with stepping on anybody's toes. Unfortunately it seems there's one in every building, and the management can't discriminate about prospective tenants based on class. While you'll get irritating neighbors at any apartment you choose, it seems Cobble Creek's higher prices attract droves of them into the same apartment so each of the partier can pay $250/mo. in rent. The apartment management is very judicial about maintaining the rights of each of its tenants, however, and is willing to send notices and warnings for 'quiet hours' violations.
The ducks breed ducklings every spring, and if you like that sort of thing, Cobble Creek is great. There are numerous benches where you can feed the ducks and observe them swimming or forraging. If you're just moving here because your roommates are already here, the ducks can likely get annoying. They like to sleep on the walkways for the heat, and you're always stepping around their crap in certain areas. While it's difficult to keep the walkways clean, the grounds are picked up every morning, and the crap sprayed off every three weeks or so. The ducks are also unabashed by cars, and sometimes you have to get out of your car and shoo or scare the ducks out of the road.
