Holy cow! We were given a great move-in deal, and we like the location and the complex with the ducks and ponds and all. That's it for the good parts!
We were told by the management that if smoking became a problem, we could report it and if it was really bad, the offenders would be moved to a diff. unit or evicted. Well, it was bad!!! I came up through the vents, and if we opened our windows and turned on the fan, it just got worse. Then after telling the management, all of whom smoked, they said that they couldn't smell anything! It reeked of cigarette smoke and pot!! Then they said there was nothing we could do!! We had a small baby at the time and we didn't want him exposed to that! They refused to move us to another unit, even at our expense, and they said it wasn't their problem.
We also had our car broken into twice!!!! We had laundry stolen, while it was still wet!!! They took my used nursing bras!! Geez!
The maintenance guys were a complete joke!!! One of the walls in the bathroom had water damage and started to crumble apart- they said that was our fault!! We'd been there 2 months!! So, we fixed that- at our expense! It took them 2 months and 4 tries to fix a really leaky faucet!
Also, when rent was due, it was due by 5PM on the 1st of the month. There was actually a member of the management standing outside sometimes collecting it; I was 2 minutes late once, and even though she was still there, she said it was too bad!
It was a lousy experience, which was a shame, because the complex is so pretty!
