Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2005

First off when my roomate and I moved here, we weren't exactly thinking straight. We were just happy to be moving into our first apartment on our own. We didn't even bother looking anywhere else. We soon realized that this place turned out to be a very big mistake.

Good things we like:
- Location, its very ideal for the college student, since its two blocks away from the U of U
- Right next to a bus stop (isn't most places always next to a bus stop anyways')
- Laundry room open 24/7.

Things we didn't like:
- Parking, Besides the parking being very dark and scary, it almost feels like your being watched. The parking here is awful. Since i've been here if you park underneath a tree most likely, your going to get some bird crap on your car. Also, I've had my car towed which is ridiculous because I was a resident here.(For the record there was a permit on the vehicle). Tow trucks always are constantly looking for any reasons to tow a vehicle, even resident vehicles. Tow trucks always come late in the night and is very hard to sleep when there's a diesel engine right out of your window.

-Management: The management at the gardens is terrible. Never answers her phones or returns messages. Never fixed any of our complaints until ALL residents threatened a lawsuit. This place is not up to code, and the manager will not fix anything unless told repeatedly of threatened by legal action. Lightbulbs were out for months and months before anything was done. Not willing to help with towing troubles, very rude, and never a presence around the complex.

- Noise Level: At first glance, the gardens, seems like a very peaceful place, but since its close to the U and there are many college students it gets very noisy at times. Late into the night cars would rumble up and down the street making it very hard to sleep. Also some resident or visitors seem to have no respect for others. Often more than not yelling or shouting can be heard through the night. Fortunately for me my neighbors up above me were very nice, but since i lived just above the laundry room and its open 24/7 you can here the washer and dryer running everyday.

- Living situations: If you think what i've said is bad already there just going to get worst. The worst part of living there was when the water broiler was damage or something causing the hot water to become disgustingly BROWN. Many residents complained about this and Four days later they finally informed residents of it. Another problem is during the summer time, it gets hot like a baking oven inside. You just can't sleep at night or stay inside during the day. The apartment does come with an air conditioner, but trust me you won't be able to feel it unless your inches away from it.

Overall: Although, There is more left to say, but i don't want to get into details. The overall condition and living of this complex is horrible. Lightbulbs were out, parking is awful, kitchen is small, and bathroom has some molded stains on it. This place really needs major upkeep and remodeling. Finally, avoid this place at all cost, there's more better apartments out there! just keep your eyes out for them. I would defintely not recommended this place to any of my friends, families, or total strangers.
