Overall I think the previous comments were fair. I enjoyed my time at Irving Schoolhouse but admittedly I was on the top floor and surrounded by quiet neighbors. I will be moving out soon due to a job transfer so I thought I would post my thoughts:

CONS:

0) Blank

1) No security. No security for your car, no security entrance gates, open access to apartment doors. What particularly concerned me is that mgmt likes to leave silly "notices/updates" on your door so anyone scoping the place can tell exactly who and who isn't home, and for how long... it's begging theives to rob you if you dont pick up the notice right away as it just sits there as a flag "no one's home!"

2) Laundry tokens- they don't let you use quarters, you have to buy tokens from the front office. Particularly annoying when you work out of town and can't get to the office to buy.
3) After due date of rent, they only accept cashier's check. I have no idea why they make you go through this trouble even if you are one day late. Just pointless.

4) Packages - sometimes no note is left and mgmt doesn't call to let you know you have a package, so it just sits there for ages.

5) Rude management- the rudest woman left, thank goodness, but there is still a bit of attitude. Allison is great, though, so try to deal with her!

6) Pool not open until June. We live in the desert and the weather is good enough for swimming in May. Open the pool earlier!

7) No elevator. Not to sound lazy, but when you live on the 5th floor and have a ton of groceries, it can get to be a pain.

PROS:

0) Blank

1) Maintenance staff. I had EXCELLENT experiences when I had my garbage disposal go out, needed my pilot light in the fireplace relit, and had a leak in the ceiling.

2) Excellent location. Sugarhouse- everything is within walking distance and some great people.

3) Apartment- clean and well-styled. I loved my balcony and didn't experience any noise problems (I lived on the 5th floor)

4) Covered parking is free.
5) Gym is great.
6) Pool is pretty nice.
7) Laundry room is well-maintained.

Overall it was a good experience but there were some hassles... Good luck
