Regret my choice

I lived here for a year. I highly suspect my next door neighbor was a drug addict/dealer who had people showing up at all times of the night. The police could often be seen parked at various locations throughout the complex investigating who knows what. I had raw sewage backup into and overflow my toilet and bathtub on more than one occasion. The management's response was to send a guy to do a cursory carpet cleaning which didn't solve the carpet issue (when that happens, carpet has to be pulled up and the padding underneath replaced)and still left me with raw sewage to clean up myself in the bathroom. The carpet smelled mildewy for the remainder of my stay.
Even though dogs are not allowed according to the website, apparently this policy isn't enforced. Many tenants have dogs, resulting in barking/yapping at various times of day and night.
The front office staff are friendly but error prone. I went to pay any final fees/utilities/etc. the day before my move out date. At that time they calculated what I owed them and I paid them. Apparently, they calculated incorrectly, because after arriving at my new address I received an additional bill. Since it wasn't for a large amount and I wished to be well clear of them, I went ahead and paid. Shortly thereafter, I received notice from a bill collection agency regarding my "unpaid" bill, even though I had proof that my check had been received and deposited by Lake Pines Apartments. I was able to get things straighened out, but not without unnecessary hassle and frustration.
If I were to do it again, I would certainly choose a different place to live.
