Very nice with some drawbacks

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
We have lived in the one bedroom floorplan with hardwood floors for a year now. We loved it at first, and some things are still great. The location is convenient to downtown, the apartments are very nice with patios and fireplaces (gas is paid, so use it all you want) and it is very nice compared with much of SLC's apartment scene. Rent is a little high, at 710 for a one bedroom. Management is very good and very prompt at fixing problems. Parking is great too, being gated, underground.
Cons: yes, the insulation is very poor, and air conditioning vents are strangely placed, so it is very hard to keep cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Windows literally leak air and sound. Ogden commuters drive right past our window at 7 am and it is very noisy. Walls are not paper thin, I never hear neighbors voices, but occasionally we hear them stomping around.
The worst has been this summer, when they took to repainting and renovating. Construction for almost 4 months now, starting at 8 am and VERY noisy. The paint is aweful in my opinion too. It makes it impossible to sleep, and when you work late at night this is a big deal.
So there it is, hopefully they'll finish construction one day and it will be quiter again.
