somewhat better

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2004
This is what I wrote 6 months ago.... things are getting better. We have only had one instance when maintence was not quick on the fix (when the step to the complex crumbled apart I had to call 6 times before they came). We are in a 2 bedroom which has central air and heat which makes it much better. The walls are thin, but that comes with any apartment. One thing... Never did I leave my purse, CD face, or CD's in my car. I can't say why the broke in, never took anything but the expense of the window was enough. My problem was the false sense of security... come on 13 cars in one night when we were suppose to have security' And for those that whine about people complaing.... that is what this is hear for. Let them vent. And yes it is also obvous to me that someone is skewing the score from the office. The only major complaint I have is parking, it would be nice if the issued stalls. I am sick of non-residents parking in the covered parking.
I have now lived in the complex for 1 year. 3 months into living there my car was broken into. Then in the summer we had some new neighbors that were constantly partying outside by our door and leaving trash everywhere. We constantly called and complained and nothing was done. One night I was at home and they were having another one of their parties when I heard a bunch of yelling and screaming and then glass breaking. I called the police and found out that they had broken out all of their windows. I again complained to the office and explained my fear for saftey. They gave these people only a warning. I complained again but was asuured that they situation had been handled. The next weekend my boyfriend and I were lying on the couch watching a movie when we heard a loud boom and say smoke coming from our wall. We immediatly called the police and later found out that two shots were fired from this apartment, one that had came through our apartment at head level. Thank god we were not walking about our stairs. They were finally evicted. When I complained about this I was told that I had signed a lease and that they could transfer me to a different apartment, but nothing else would be done because I had signed a paper. Then just last weekend 13 cars were broken into. My boyfriend and I were just on our way to sign a new lease for a different apartment when this happened. We decided then and there that we no longer wanted to stay at the apartment but were told that I would lose the 250 I had paid to transfered and our refunable deposit. We were pretty much bullied into sigining the papers because we had no other choice. The maintence sucks! Unless it is something that will damage their property they are in no rush. It took more than 24 hours for them to come and fix our heat. We went two nights with out heat. I would not recommed this to anyone. Although I will say that their DM Julie has been nice, but still nothing really is done, just apology after apology.
