Due to working for the Salt Lake Airport, the location is ideal. Other then that, I would move in a heartbeat. This place is awful. I've had nothing but problems. Maintence has come to my apartment building over 5 times to fix the hot water hearter. Each time, a different person...a different excuse. TOO cheap to change the actual hot water heater. Instead keep replacing the thermostate. The front desk has new employees every day of the week, can never have a straight answer and are so clueless! They place signs on your front door because they are afraid of conforntation. They will randomly come into your apartment for an "inspection" wether you are there or not. The walls are paper thin, I can hear my neighbors behind me having sex and even SNORING! no lie. When summer is over they NEVER put a cover over the pool..leaving it opened YEAR round for birds and ducks to swim in. I've had my windows replaced TWICE due to a seal being broke and can still NOT see out my windows. I've complained several times about parties and loud music, nothing is done..I'm told to take it into my own hands and call the police. The applicances are awful...from the early 80's! You have to turn off your refrig so the freezer can lose the ice on the walls so you can actually PUT items in your freezer. The dishwasher is a joke! We don't even bother with it, makes our dishes even dirtier!
I am not happy with this apartment complex and can't wait for this lease to be up in a few months. It will be the happiest day of my life!

It is always unfortunate when Sky Harbor receives a review and the individual who wrote the review does not disclose who they are so we can get down to the facts. I have been the Property Manager for 16 years and I know without a doubt we would never let a resident ask for their water heater to be repaired 5 times. We don't have to give excuses, because we work for a company that generously provides all the resources we need to take care of our residents. The average front desk employee has been with Sky Harbor for two years. This average does take into account myself who has been here 16 years, the Suites Manager who has been here 5 years, and another agent who has been here 8 years. Usually I find when someone is complaining about the answer hat was given to them it is because the "straight answer" isn't what the person making the review wants to hear, such as the point you make that we put signs on your front door. The only "signs" that would be put on your front door are formal eviction notices, and legally this is how they need to be posted. You state you have lived in the community two years and we have replaced your windows twice. To me this reinforces what I said earlier that Sky Harbor is owned by individuals who freely improve the community. As far as the pool you are right we leave it uncover because it is much more attractive to look at throughout the winter months than a dirty pool cover. The Health Department randomly checks the pool and two spas. We adhere to their direction, so you can be assured it is to code. We do use an outside monitoring company, and spend close to $100,000 a year to help keep the community a quiet and pleasant environmnet. We'd be more than happy to give you all the information that is necessary to call after hours if there are problems. We recognize at times our residents can have conflicting lifetsyles and that is why we stand behind the financial committment we make to provide you with this extra service. If your appliances need to be reviewed for replacement we encourage you to please put in a work order. You are more than welcome to call me directly for this request at 801-521-4544. I am very sorry you are not happy with your home and hope you will give us the opportunity to make the necessary changes while you are here. Julie Koch Property Manager

I also find it unfortunate to hear this statement. Back in 2004 I was a resident at Sky Harbor. I lived in your loft. I actually loved the apartment. My car had been broken into twice, but I chalked it up to apartment living. What I will never accept is the total disregard for my saftey by your staff. We had unruly neighbors move in next door that were up all hours of the night and enjoyed partying on the front steps. We'd complain, making noise complaits but nothing was ever done. Then one evening we were wathcing movies when I heard glass shattering. I called the SLCPD and the gang unit was there in a matter of minutes. It seems that our neighbors had gotten into a fight and the husband was throwing rocks through the windows. It was obvious that we were the ones that had called the police and I received a threat. I assumed that Sky Harbor would immediatly evict these people. Instead I was told that you had sent them a letter and had appropriatly handled the problem. I asked to be move to another apartment and was told it would be at my expense. You mentioned that you want a quiet and pleasant environment. My former neighbors had obviously violated the contract and Sky Harbor had more than enough grounds to evict. But a letter to the residents was deemed appropriate action. Unfortuantly this isn't where it ends. The next weekend, after I had called and spoke to everyone I could, even you Julie, I was watching movies again when I heard a loud "pop" noice and saw smoke coming through my walls. In the end a total of four bullets were shot into my apartment, two entered the ceiling, one was not found, and another was a head level on our staircase to the loft. Finally I was able to get some response from the management there and they were evicted. We also had to move to another apartment in the community because we were not able to break my lease. Your statement about repairs being timely is truly laughable to me. If something breaks on a weekend you have to wait until Monday, unless it is deemed an emergency. I had to sit with a broken garbage disposal and smell for three days over a holiday weekend. I actually ended up spending a night at my parents. There were multiple occassions where I would use the online maint. request and I would end up calling one or two times before someone actually formailzed the request. You're $100,000 a year would have been a waste during the time I lived there. I once provided the office staff with a log of the secruity team. They were in and out at the exact same time every night. That isn't security. It has to be random or theifs will know exactly when to hit.
