Dont move here!

What ever you do, do not move in to these apartments! I have lived in several apartments through out my life and I have never hated my home as much as I do there. When we moved in, there was a car out side who would let it run at 4:30 in the morning to warm it up in the winter but their belt was broken. We called in to ask them to inform the people they are disturbing other residents. Their exact words were, "It's apartment living." Exactly! Then summer came and our air conditioner was broken. Our apartment thermostat said 85 degrees. when we would call they would say "We have to wait for it to be 75 degrees out side consistantly for three days before we can do anything." but couldn't give an explination why. And then with out letting us know, they would go in our apartment while we were at work to check on it. A month went by and it was still broken and they kept saying we had to wait. Finally, they brought in a temporary air conditioner that stuck out our window and it didnt even work either. Once they fixed our air conditioner, they continued to come in our apartment with out letting us know for about a week. Now my husband and I have finally had the opportunity to buy a home. So I called them because we might not be able to get out of the apartment before the first of the month. Instead of saying congratulations, Leslie, was so ignorant and said I would have to wait for another employee to come in the following week to give me an answer on the fees for breaking the lease. I asked if she didn't know their policies and she said she did but still wouldnt tell me! Every time we call for anything, Leslie is the biggest witch like she is so put out and acts like she absolutely hates her job. So now I find out we have to pay one months rent to break the lease plus 25% of each month remaining in the lease. I have also been told by another couple that their bikes were stolen. I havent even had a neighbor for longer than two months. People move out as quick as they move in. The rent may be cheap, but you are paying more than how you are treated. Our dishwasher was from the 70's, our sink in our kitchen was bowing down and broken and the heater in the closet was torn apart and all the stuffing was coming out. Their solution to fix it was to just duct tape it together. Their blinds are wooden and too big for the windows so we could never close them all the way. Their model home is nothing like the apartments they move you in to and the carpet is nasty! I recommend Somerset Village right up the street. That was the best apartment I ever lived in and their customer service was wonderful, they even knew our names. We never had to call in to complain about anything and they are always working on making their community better. Good luck if you decide to move in, but don't expect much of anything.
