We have had a huge mold issue since we have moved in, so bad the baseboards were rotting, I begged them to fix it, and all they did was paint over the problem! Once I get the money I am leaving!

Wow. As a fellow Community Manager at a different apartment complex, I must say a huge thank you to Brenda. Thank you for helping me increase my business by driving away your own. Thank you for making a list of some of the problems that your potential residents would be running into if they rent with you. And thank you for treating your resident so badly on a public forum. When your residents lease is up, I will gladly take them and treat them as they should be treated. During these hard economic times, it has been very hard to keep any apartment complex full, and the differentiating factor will be the level of customer service offered by all apartment staff members, especially the community manager. So again, thank you for driving away your own business and helping the rest of us out.

My name is Brenda Worthen and I'm the Community Manager of Alpine Meadows. The above review surprises me as I believe my staff has gone above and beyond for these residents. On Sunday night, 2 of my maintenance team were emergency paged out for a reported mold/midlew issue. They arrived at the apartment and were prepared to complete the work but were asked by the residents to wait while the residents called the police(?) and sent their mother home to get a camera. My Maintenance Supervisor called to inform me of the goings on. I then called the residents to ask how long my team would have to wait or would if be easier if they came back in the morning. The residents said Monday would be fine, but they were concerned about staying in the apartment with the mildew. I was not onsite to evaluate the situation so I offered to put them up in a hotel for the night. I was in their apartment Monday morning. They had a patch of mildew which had developed behind the head of their bed. This was caused by the mattress being flat on the floor (no bed frame) and flat up against the wall allowing for no air circulation. The mildew was easily cleaned and killed with bleach, then the wall was treated with Kilz to prohibit any future growth, professional carpet cleaners were brought in to clean and treat the nearby carpet, then the wall was painted to complete the job. The residents then proceeded to present us with a laundry list of so-called 'ongoing' issues. Their windows leaked, their toilet needed to be re-caulked, their tub was cracked and the baseboard near the tub was damaged. We offer a 48-hr maintenance guarantee and had any of these things been brought to out attention prior to this emergency call out, they would have been taken care of immediately. The cracked tub is an especially serious problem and can cause extensive structural damage if we don't know about it in time. To summarize: 1. I wonder why they waited until this emergency page out to inform us of 'ongoing' issues 2. I wonder why they didn't let the maintenace team do they work once they were there on Sunday 3. If these residents have been so unhappy since they moved in, I wonder why did they just sign a lease renewal for another 9 months?

I think this is just silly. I have been a resident here for almost 3 years. Brenda is a new manager and is 10 times better than the last one. I have had a few things i needed work on in my apartment but the main guys come up very fast and are nice. I dont know what this resident is talking about because I have new had an issue with mold.
