Very Nice Place to Live

Years at this apartment: 2009 - 2009
Having lived in 3 different apartment complexes over the past 3 years after moving out to Utah for school, I can easily say Sterling Village is one of the nicest, most spacious apartment complexes I have seen here. Sterling Village was the first apartment complex I looked into prior to moving in, and after dropping my jaw to the floor at the shear beauty of the one bedroom floor plan, every other apartment I looked at in The Valley didn't even begin to compare to Sterling. After a few weeks of looking around I came full circle back to Sterling Village.
When I came in to make my down payment I was a bit frustrated with their staff because the rent and deposit amount they had promised me just 2 weeks before had expired the day before I came in. They knew I was coming in the day that I did and they were well aware of the rate I expected to receive. It was quite annoying to find out that they not only wouldn't honor the amount they promised, but wouldn't even meet me somewhere in the middle either. That being said, I love just about everything about these apartments. As others have said there are bees/wasps, but maintenance has always been responsive to my needs (including spraying). The caliber of the residents here is exceptional which became obvious to me when I was foolish enough to leave my mail/house/pool key stuck in my mailbox lock and then received the whole keychain back the next day from the office staff (who even dropped it off in my apartment for me while I was at work!).
The nearby traintrack IS loud, but it doesn't bother me too much. There seems to be a late train most nights (11 or so), but it goes by pretty quick and isn't too bad. All of the amenities are fantastic from the pool to the hot tub to the great gym equipment, sauna and even a steambath. Parking generally sucks late at night, but as a resident with a garage it doesn't bother me one bit.
The one bedroom floorplan has to be seen to be believed. The garage is CONNECTED to the apartment with a staircase leading up into it. No huffing through snow required, just walk downstairs into the garage and get in your car. The vaulted ceilings are beautiful, the living room is truly massive, the bathroom is gorgeous, the kitchen is spacious, the bedroom is ideally located away from the living room so that people can sleep without being bothered by the TV in the other room, the patio is HUGE, and the layout of the apartment is such that the living areas of the apartment don't actually touch wall-to-wall with any of the surrounding apartments. There are 3 garages below the one bedroom model, vaulted ceilings above, and a 4-foot wide staircase adjoins the next door apartment. I have never once heard my neighbor, and based on what they tell me, they haven't heard me either. The one major complaint I have is that the bedroom has a big bay window looking out into the courtyard- and facing an exceptionally bright, orange safety light. It is NEVER dark in the bedroom and shades/drapes must be purchased to keep the light level down (if that sort of thing bothers you). Other than that, I do not have any complaints whatsoever about the apartment.
