My husband and I contacted the Fairways Apartments because we were having plumbing issues with our new home and couldn't move in, and we only had 5 days left on our old apartment lease. So we viewed an apartment at the Fairway Apartments, and filled out an application. We gave them a $20 application fee, and were told they would contact us when we were approved. We contacted them the next day, and Scott at the apartments told us we were approved. Since I worked that day, my husband took the $269.00 deposit over, and signed his portion of the contract. Scott gave him the key, and said I could sign later. The next morning, my father was able to fix the plumbing in our house and we were able to move in. We immedietly contacted Scott and returned the key, and he said since I didn't sign the lease, we should get our deposit back and his manager would contact us the next week. We contacted her on May 1st to inquire about our refund, and she said it was non refundable, and since my husband signed the contract she would not give it back, EVEN THOUGH we never even touched the apartment and I never even signed the contract for an apartment that both my husband and I applied for occupancy on. Go to the Unfairway Apartments if you like to be treated like dirt.

It's a contract!!!! Doesn't matter if you lived there or not. It was signed and someone else couldn't lease it because you did. It probably cost Fairway more than your $269 in lost rent!!!
