really, really bad

Firstly, there is new blood in the office so things may start turning around. They seem a lot more helpful, in fact, one of them jumped my car this morning for me. There is a high turnover and I wouldn't get my hopes up though. BUT, this has been the worst place I've ever lived and I have always lived in not so expensive apartments. For FOUR months, we literally had to walk through a fog of bees that had nested right next to our front door and no one would do a thing. We called several times and every month when we paid rent in person we would ask for help with the bees. One of the staff even came out and looked at how many bees there were flying around and still nothing. They were in a foundation crack and such a large number that it wasn't possible to kill them ourselves. Finally they came and took care of it. Just in time for winter which did most of their job for them. We were missing a kitchen and a fridge drawer. After a couple months, got the fridge drawer (filthy) and never got the missing kitchen one. The apartment was pretty gross when we moved in, floor needed vacuumed and all the surfaces were grimy. But, we will be charged $40 when we move out for mandatory carpet shampooing. They said everyone has to do it, but they must have taken the $40 from the previous tenants and done something else with it. Lots of mold in the windows and not very well insulated. The parking lot is not safely lit up. I have never felt safe walking to my car at night, can't see a thing. If people didn't leave their porch lights on, there would be no light at all. One building has a spotlight facing the parking lot but it only lights up the one corner. Another safety problem is the way people drive through the lot. Expect them to be going way too fast and not paying attention going around the many turns. I've never seen anything like it. The water heater needs replaced. Air conditioner was broke when we moved in, three maintenance trips to fix it. And a lot of termites in the bathroom that never go away. The exterminator comes, but the bugs always come back.
