ok, you figure this one out. I got home and was locked out of my apartment. So I called the 800 number at 6:23pm last night (6/19/08). Waited a while and no response, so called again and again. My husband got off work at midnight. My 3 year old and I were outside on our balcony waiting for this "after hours" guy to call me back. I made another phone call one hour later (7:24pm), and still nothing. My last attempt to get this guy to call back was 10:29pm. We were freezing cold, and still nothing. Finally my daughter fell asleep and eventually my husband came home. When you have the "after hours" guy paged, you punch in your phone number and the pound sign. Hello, what if I had a water pipe break, or an lectrical problem. After hours emergency number my ass, why have one if no one responds. by the way, that was last night, today I haven't heard anythin either. no apology or anything! Grade A place to live, huh!'!

I am very familiar with who this resident is. Obviously they are very upset. The water and sewer bill has not been paid for over 6 months. I waived the past 6 months worth of late fees and even credited a large amount back to them due to the inconvenience of the way the transfer took place in regards to the bill. Name calling is not respectful. I understand that sometimes people react in these ways when they are upset. I don't take it personally, however, wish that they did not feel that way since I have worked so hard to please them. I know that I worked very hard to help this resident and even called on a weekend to let them know that I was still working on it. I wasn't sure what had happened off hand and it needed to be researched. The fact of the matter is that the bill had not been paid in over 6 months and it's a monthly bill..and the over payment on the rent that should have gone to the water bill was used by the residents the following month as a credit (paying less than what the regular monthly rent is, did they not notice that?). Just to clarify, corporate was not involved due to me telling lies. The residents contacted our corporate offices in regards to this and it was verified that the money is still owed and the only error we had made was the money they paid to us for the water bill went to the ledger as a rent credit which was used the following month by the residents.

I would love to say to this comical response that I have paid every utility bill. It's when I get screwed over by the apartment managers and not being told I have an outstanding bill. And what's hilarious is that when we transfered into our 3 bedroom town home, we were told by a leasing consultant that we didn't have to pay until Dec. (two months later) yet that was still being charged and we NEVER got a letter from conservice (utility) bill or a friendly reminder letter from the apartment manager saying "pay in full or we won't except your rent" for the two months. AND once again Rikki (community manager) has managed to lie, corporate did get involved (Kristie Hale and Janae Jarvis) because she was telling them one thing and us another, but what Rikki forgot was that we had documented proof! If you notice the first response, Rikki gave herself away to who she was "anonymously". AND "just to clarify" I'm not name calling, I just described what I've dealt with. And if it wasn't her fault why (like she mentioned in her response) did she pay for the late fees and pay a huge chunk of it ($85, huge huh?!) ALL I CAN SAY IS MAKE SURE YOU KEEP EVERYTHING! DOCUMENTED PAPERS ARE YOUR BEST FRIEND WHILE LIVING HERE!!!!
