Too Small and Poor Maintenance

I feel that the apartments are too small. When planning the layout, they didn't not plan very well. They didn't take into consideration the amount of storage people need. I really don't like the kitchen. We can't open the top drawer by the oven or it will hit the handle of the oven. We have to OPEN the oven in order to fully open that drawer. Also, we have had some troubles with the maintenance in the last two years we have lived at this community. We had some difficulties with our piping the first year we were there and they still have yet to fix it completely. Their idea of fixing the problem was not to replace the pipes and fix the leak, but to replace the flooring in the bathroom and paint over the moldy areas. Not only is this a problem for future tenants, but it is not a healthy solution to the problem. Our lease says that mold is not allowed in the apartments. I believe that it is not only the tenants responsibility, but the landlord's responsibility as well to take care of problems that can cause mold. In this case, it was not our fault that the mold grew. It was due to the fact that the problem was not solved appropriately in the first place. If we are paying the high price to live there, we should be getting high quality service to match. I do not feel this is the case. Our rent increased $100.00 in ONE YEAR. We deserve better than what they are giving us if we are paying the amount that we are. Now they want to take down the fences so we do not have a back yard for our dog. That was the main reason we moved to this community. We cannot use a barbecue grill, we can't do a lot of things, yet they are willing to continue the poor service and continue to hike up the price of rent.

They also think taking down the fences makes it look better. LIke you I moved in for the fencing. If I wanted I could leave my sliding door open a couple inches for a breeze. Now that's not possible because anyone walking through can get in and out. The fence at least hid that a LITTLE.
This place sucks in a major way...
Good luck with the mold:) You probably should take pictures in case anyone living there gets ill

Maybe you should get Utah health dept. involved that way no one gets sick and maybe the apartment manager would get a law suit and actually do a maintenence job right the first time. My guess is that they don't want to fork out the money to pay for new stuff (ya know a bath tub). Just look at the condition of the way they run electricity through the apartments. They can't give us "A" quality if they don't hire "A" quality, that being said, they hire "D" quality so we get "D" quality(it's cheaper!). I've been here as long as you have and if it weren't for a crapy house market I'd be out of here. The office staff sucks you in on red carpet and spit you out onto gravel! I hope things get better for you. To everyone else who might think about living here--DON'T-bad waste of money, try Cascade Springs!! I'm going to!

Just one thing. It is very hard to grow mold in Utah. It is probably mildew and can be taken care of.If you left your sliding glass door open your crazy!!!!! I have been here for 2 years and have no problems. There is a whole brand new office staff that is Awesome. Better than what they have had in the past.I would recomend them!!!!!
