I unfortunately still live at Willow Cove Apartments and have lived her for 2 years. I have had nothing but problems with the management. They never keep up the grounds and when it rains there is mud everywhere. One day while coming out of my apartment I slipped on the mud and almost broke my elbow. I had to go to the ER and because I had to pay a $100.00 co-pay for that I didn??t have the money for my rent when the check went though 15 days after I gave it to the management. I went in to see if they would waive my late fees and found no sympathy. Once I emailed the owners of this apartment complex their tone changed and I was credited the late fees.
Now for the real kicker, at this complex you need to give a 60 day notice to move out. Last year my rent only went up $5.00 so this year I decided to stay thinking that my rent might go up at the most $10.00. About 31 days before my lease expires I called the office to say that no one had contacted me yet regarding resigning my lease. I was then contacted 4 days later and told they wanted to raise my rent by $40.00. I can not afford this so I demanded that they either keep my rent the same or let me move out with no penalty now at the end on my lease. I talked them down to only raising my rent $20.00 but I still did not want to pay that. I have been here 2 years and all of the apartments around us have had the carpet redone and have been repainted. They refused to redo my apartment. I asked them what would happen if I gave my 60 days today and they said that I would have to pay the month to month rent for my apartment which is 200.00 more than my current rent. I refused as I did not have the money to pay so much and move. So now I am stuck in a 10 month lease (the min. they would allow me to) for $20.00 more than I am paying now. This last month I was short $9.21 on my water bill and so I thought I could pay it next month, but now I have a notice that if I don??t pay in 1 day the $9.21, they will charge me a 75.00 late fee. I can??t stand this apartments management! They are unfair and rude when you call to talk to them. I am going in today to pay the $9.21 and then I am going give them my 9 month advance notice that I am moving out at the end of my lease and I am forwarding it on the owners.
