Not so bad, but...

I?ve lived at 3001 now for 5 years [this year will be my last]. Overall, it?s not a bad place to live, with some very good points:
1. Plenty of parking
2. Well sound-conditioned apartments [the walls aren?t thin]
3. Low "bulk" utility bills [I can probably run the a/c in my small 1br apt all day long in the summer and come away with no more than a $40 bill for the month]
4. Responsive management and maintenance
Those are very good points, but there?s also some growing bad points at this once-premier community:
1. The gym is fast falling into disrepair. I?m not sure why, but I think it has something to do with mgmt wanting residents to take advantage of the Centre Club gym right across the street [and which I think is part of the property, or at least owned by the same people].
2. Rental increases have gotten phenomenal. I used to be able to negotiate a good deal on each year?s increase, but last year only got the best deal I could get [which was 10%--and I?ve heard others getting 15% and 20% hikes] after submitting my vacate notice.
Overall, it?s a very good place to live, and the staff are nice and competent. But unless management does something, and fast, to turn the tide on the growing disappointments in this community, 3001 Park Center will be another apartment community without much to offer, and for too much price.
