Better to look elsewhere

I have been living at 3001 Park Center for the past 13yrs. Over the those years the management company has changed 3 or 4 times. Each time the management team gets worse. Back in 1993 - 1996 this was a great place to live. The apartment staff catered so much to its residents. Over the years as management changed you can tell the apartment complex was moving from family friendly to maximum profits!
While the living conditions are nice (each apartment is very spacious) the current management team and staff do not make the apartment complex as a whole seem like home. In previous years there was a door man, who has since been replaced by sliding glass doors (a cost saving move).
Although I've been living at 3001 Park Center for 13yrs., I can tell the difference in quality from a management. However someone new moving into this complex may feel that it is great because they will not have known or been used to what the residents of previous years were getting. However since the beginning of 2006, I have encountered a couple of issues with the management.
First: I rented out the club room to host a superbowl party. The club room is a nice size holds around 50 people. It comes with a kitchen, bar and cable tv, all for the rental price of $150. The night of the Superbowl the cable went out. Reported the problem to management and they called the cable company. Cable company never showed. I had to run out and buy an antenna from Sears. When told of this problem and requested a refund for the rental of the room management said they would only refund half as well as pay for the antenna (about $35).
Second: 3001 Park Center apartment complex has one hospitality suite with two bedrooms that it allows its residents to rent. Well this past February (2006) they accidently double booked my reservation with someone else. At first the complex was saying there was nothing they could do. Then after arguing for an hour they decided they would put my guest up in a hotel and refund me the difference. Well its over a month later and the apartment complex is still deciding on who will pay for my hotel room. The concierge hired by the apartment complex handles the hospitality suites.
3001 Park Center is a good place to stay and although it is on the expensive side. The apartments are spacious. However, I have a problem with managment and how they handle adverse situations. In 13yrs these are the first two problems that I've really had. The customer service is terrible, especially for the money that you pay in rent each month.
My advice would be to shop elsewhere in Alexandria/Arlington you can find something cheaper and probably get better customer service!
