General Comments & The Flood

I have most of these comments, and I have to say for the most part I agree. Yes, management offered there assistance...2 DAYS AFTER THE SITUATION. This true that it was an act from God, however there were things that should have been handled differently. My apartment was flooded and my car was totaled by the flood. In flood waters lies raw sweage and other waste, that can not only be trated my bleach. The health department or EPA has to come in and treat the area. Mold is not killed only by bleach, but of course thats what management said to do because the proper proceedures weren't handled. Also I had to clean my own apartment if I didn't want that stuff in my place any longer than the 2 days it sat in there. My carpet was only cleaned, not pulled up. As for the carpets that were replaced, how are you gonna put new carpet on wet tile & padding on the floor. That stuff needs to be stripped and treated; you can't just throw carpet on it a day or two later. Some residents weren't able to stay in there home at all, but yet rent was still aspected. This was indeed mother nature, but get serious..how can you aspect someone to pay rent somewhere they can't even stay in. I'm not saying management did a poor job handling the situation, but it dam- sure should have been handled a lot better. Therefore maybe if some of us have coffee breaks with the staff we might have seen more timely results, instead we're just regular paying tenants.
Secondly, the noise situation needs to be addressed by management, but I'm sure that will never happen. My some tenants need to be more respectful to others with their music. There is no reason why I should be hearing your music in my entire apartment. Be considerate and turn that bass down if you're gonna work on your car or be outside in it for a period of time instead of my whole apartment shaking all hours of the night from your stereo. I mean this is a community that we share, and others do work during the day. I mean these apartments aren't cheap and for some of the things to occur here to happen is unacceptable. But who am I just another tenant that puts out over 1400 dollars a month' And when my time comes I won't be renewing any lease here.

If this was an act from God, tell me how someone is suppose to plan for it?! In my opion with all the apts that were flooded they did things in a timely matter. I know for myself and a few of my neighbors that were affected, we had rental deductions for the time we had to stay somewhere else because of the work and repair being done on our apts.If your carpet was completely wet and you did not let the staff know, then thats your falt because our carpets were taken up, fans were put down to dry the concrete, the mold was treated and then replaced whith new carpet. I even got my whole apt repainted! I am happy with my apt!!! As for me drinking coffee with the staff, I can assure you that it was not surrounding the days of the flood because they were too busy tring to fix eveyones problem! Are you expecting them to replace your car as well?!:) Better luck at your next place of resident.
