One bedrooms rent for $1500 THEN you have to pay ANOTHER $200 for utlities YET YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER HEAT and A/C. They say the A/C is cut off when it gets cooler than 65 outside. Yet its 74 right now with 94% humitity and NO A/C and its 83 in my apartment. FYI office drons call 703-936-1212 or watch the weather on channel #27. Whas the excuse now' They lie about the dumbest things. They talk to people like their idiots. They turn the air conditing on and off as they please, what do they care the leasing office has its own a/c unit which is on right now while everyone else is suffering. Dont be fooled when visiting to lease an apartment and its nice and chilly in there, everyone else is sweating. Even the local STORES and offices have the a/c on already but own HOME doesnt'!
It's supposed to rain all week too so its not like we can leave all the windows open and go about our business. I guess we have to keep running back and forth opening and closing all our windows 100 times this week so our carpet wont get wet and moldy. Plus we get to let all the pollen in. Having the windows open is fun as well it lets in my neighbors disgusting cigarette smoke, street noises; cars and trash trucks, pollen, loud kids screaming constantly, bugs (as the balcony door has no screen on it, birds chirping at 3 am not to mention it s a security hazard having them open all night (as the leasing office staff suggested). You also CANNOT SEE your TV AT ALL with the windows open there is a really bad glare. Dragging the fans from room to room is also fun for $1500 a mont. This is ridiculous for the rent and more ridiculous for a $200 utlity bill we pay for 800 square feet. And finally when the a/c is on it runs and runs and runs never getting to the temperature you set it. Move some where you can acutally CONTROL the expensive enviorment your living in.

I have to say that you seem like a person who finds fault with everything. Yes it would be nice to have A/C and heat as you wish, but I have lived at several different apartment buildings and a lot of them have A/C units that if you change it from one to the other can cause so much damage than it could take weeks to fix. I do not know have the A/C work at this place, but you just seem to be an unhappy person, who finds that birds chirp, kids playing and the sun brightening the room are all bad things.

Really? I think it must be your unit because I have control over my AC in my apartment and they turned on the AC Well over a month ago. I do feel you on the utilties bill-i started paying about 180 for utilties when I moved in, it is now up to 245-2 adults and 1 kid in my apt in a 2 bedroom apt. My last utility bill was 230 and now its 245 and i was comparing the costs of gas when I had heat and gas now and its the same amount-wouldnt gas go down since we dont use heater and what sucks is that i barely use the AC-especially when they first turned it on-i didnt turn it on yet i get charged a rediculous amount for utilties that i have no control over. 1500 for a one bedroom is exensive!! Thank G-d i got this apt when I guess they had a deal going on 2 bedrooms for 1285 -very spacious, but i am now happy to say my lease is up in 2 months and I will be moving.
