We were promised air conditioning on the first of May, here it is ten days later and we have no air conditioning. Its been in the eighties with ninety-eight percent humidity. We are told to open our windows despite the recent burglaries we were warmed about in a resident memo. Furthermore, I have horrible allergies and I m left to open my windows and let all the pollen in. My apartment is close to ninety degrees and this is only May, I fear the rest of the summer. This is outrageous. I pay over $1500.00 a month including $220 a month in utilities this being after a rent increase of over $200 a month which I horribly regret at this point but they didn t give me enough notice to find other accommodations. Archstone Newport Village is failing apart at the seams and management is incompetent and uncooperative in handling complains. Besides the lack of air conditioning there is a serious problem with noise. These walls appear to be constructed with cardboard. There is no sound insulation and the floors are failing apart. The noise from above is intense. You can hear your upstairs neighbors walking in their kitchen while your in the bathroom with the door closed (total opposite end of the apartment) it is that intense and that loud. As far as vermin, they are infested with field mice and rats. We have an ant problem as well as spiders but have had no luck getting on the list to be exterminated IF an exterminator even exists for Newport Village. There is also conversation regarding tenants with multiple families in each unit. This notion is correct. Many people are choosing to reside with each other to save money however those of us who choose not to live like we are in a third world country must suffer the consequences of their actions such as highly inflated utility bills, added noise issues and problems with sanitation. I deeply regret extending my stay here and I will be looking into my other options immediately. If you have an IQ over 50 you will avoid this property at any cost.

We are living like caged smelly animals for $1500 a month. My dorm room was cleaner than this place. I didnt have bugs or mice either and they always had exterminators even when you didnt see bugs, when you SEE bugs its too late to get rid of them and thats what wrong with this place. It's too late to do anything about it.
