I LIVE IN THE APARTMENT COMPLEX AND YES IT IS VERY INFESTED WITH MICE!!! MY HUSBAND GOT UP FOR WORK EARLY ONE MORNING AND HE SAW ONE RUN ACROSS THE FLOOR.HE PROCEEDED TO CALL ARCHSTONE AND THEY SAID THAT THE PEST CONTROL ONLY COMES ON TUESDAY!! WELL THIS WAS LAST WEDNESDAY. MY HUSBAND WENT TO THE HOME DEPOT AND GOT SOME TRAPS AND SET THEM AROUND THE APARTMENT.. HE SET 10 TRAPS AND CAUGHT 9 MICE!!! I WAS SCARRED SHITLESS.HE RESETS THE TRAPS EVERYDAY AND EVERYDAY HE CATCH ONE OR TWO.. I HAVE NOT GONE IN THE KITCHEN SINCE HE FIRST SAW THE MICE..WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF LOOKING ELSE WHERE TO STAY... IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING STAYING IN NEWPORT VILLAGE THINK AGAIN....

you should hae taken the traps w/mice and placed them infront of the leasing office.

I have lived here for about 7mths and I have never seen a mouse yet, although I hear about this issue I often wonder is it the resident or the property itself? I live on the ground floor and i would probably go crazy if I saw one, but I never have and Hopefully never will but Im clean and dont keep open items that would make them want to stay. Sorry that you have to go throught this but you set 10 traps and cought 9 mice thats gross and I'm not sure if the problem is the properties and not the home itself why would it keep comeing back?? Thats Gross....

I just woke up to find a mouse in my bedroom as well. It's 2:40 a.m. and I'm freaked out. I've been here for months...but now I'm totally discouraged. And I DON'T live on the ground floor, nor do I keep food out (and I don't eat in my bedroom so why is there a mouse in there)? Totally disgusted and angry!

Lived here for 8 months now & I wish we'd seen this site before we moved in. Communal utilities are a bit strange, but there's not much they could do considering the antiquated heating/cooling system that serves the complex. Its like living on a military base that has a giant water loop through all the buildings. Hot water in the winter, cool (not cold) water in the summer... unless the boiler/chill water plant goes down for maintenance. There's a fan in each apt to blow air over/around the hot/cool water loops. After we accepted that strange arrangement, we got ants. The exterminator was helpful & the ants haven't been back. Yep, we've seen one roach & one mouse (so far). The roach was dead at the bottom of the laundry room stairs. The mouse woke up my wife at o'dark-30 because it was stuck on a trap in the fan closet. I put the whole trap outside. The exterminator came back and asked if the ants were gone while he set more mouse traps. I'm having a hard time convincing myself that we should stay here another year.
