Don't expect Archstone management to offer any reconcilation on the terms and conditions of a lease even when they acknowledge a wrong has occured. After four plus months into a six month lease, I discovered that I was paying a utility bill based on two occupants versus one. The issue surrounds a simple administrative error made at the time of signing the lease. My wife and I signed the leased but it was disclosed to the processing agent at the time that I would be the only tenant as the apartment was my residence during the week (work in DC during the week only, commute home on weekends). After repeated attempts to get Archstone to consider giving me a credit for overpayment all I got was "we're sorry" and we'll waive the fee for submitting a roommate release fee $%(*&*!!!. And, convenient to their position was the processing agent who we disclosed the occupancy situation with at signing has long since terminated her employment with Archstone, so it's a case of my word against theirs. If you chose to rent with Archstone make sure you understand how they compute your utility bill. If you find out let me know!

Utility bill is a rip-off. No matter how much you try to conserve it is sky high. They say they compute it based ont he size of the apt. and the number of occupnats but i thnk it is a crock. Ohh and they take 20% off the main bill for other things such, as empty apt,usage in leasing office and others. My last bill was $300. We lived in a 3000 sq. foot home nd my utility bill were never that high. Archstone are a bunch or liars and they will tell you whatever they think will get you off their back. You have to keep on them like a bad disease.
