My apartment has flooded for the second time today. I will probably be displaced from my bedroom and a few closets for the next three or four days as I was last time...and I will not receive any compensation just like last time. Honestly, I have never been more unhappy with a situation in my life. I am paying double rent for the month June just so I can move out of this place sooner. Do not live here. The management is horrible and the apartments are clearly not kept up!!!! Seriously, listen to everyone on this site that has written a real review. Everything they say is true!

Our apt. flooded in the summer of 2006 BADLY! They put us up in a hotel. I asked them about a food allowance, considering all the groceries I bought were at my FLOODED apt. They said it wasn't happening. Eventually, they did agree to me not paying a month of rent because I was in a hotel for 3 weeks while they made repairs to my apt. It was a MAJOR pain! I'm thankful they put me up in a hotel (and paid for a kennel for my cat as the hotel wouldn't take pets) and had a month rent free (while I was in the hotel), but I can assure you I did not sign a new lease when it was up.
I lived in the basement level (which they call the first floor). If you have to walk down stairs and have no windows on one side of your house, that is not first floor. That is called a walk out basement! My apt. shared a wall with the laundry area. The flooding was so bad they had to cut that wall out and the only thing separating my apt. from the laundry room was a sheet of plastic. All of my belongings remained in my apt. during all of this. The incompetent people they had doing the work kept unplugging my fridge and freezer which were both packed with food. They even ate food that was mine and left the wrappers around as proof. I was there every day to check the progress and to plug my fridge and freezer back in. They tried to skimp on things often and I just did not feel the repairs were made in a manner that were acceptable.
The storm that passed through was a large one, but I can almost guarantee that if they would have had a cover over the window well, the apt. flooding could have been avoided. At the very least, it would not have been so bad.
