I recentlyl left Archstone Newport Village, actually I was evicted, which is fine with me because I had planned on leaving anyways. My issue is with the way the management staff on Archstone handled it. There might have been 2 people in the office that were willing to help me with my situation. M0n1Qu3 is the manager here and she didn't care AT ALL about giving us an extension so we could get our stuff out in time, so we had to clear out a fully furnished apartment in 2 days. Someone in her office screwed up paperwork and we recieved our notice at the very ....last...minute. Keep in mind, I WANTED to leave and all I needed was a week to get my things out and they didn't care. Anyways...besides that, here are the reasons why I WANTED to leave:

-Poorly constructed buildings
-Paper thin walls and floors
-Guest parking is almost NEVER available
-Trash just sits on the bottom floor and makes the ENTIRE stairway reek of garbage
-Online billpay is severly restricted
-Neighbors that actually WORK IN THE LEASING OFFICE will do everything they can to get you kicked out of the community, including blaming innocent people for anything and everything that goes wrong
-Did I mention the management staff doesn't care about you'
-Rent is too much considering the condition of the apts
-Resident parking needs work

I know people read these reviews and might take them for granted, but honestly...you will regret it if you decide to move here, trust me on this one. Keep looking...you'll find a much nicer place for a better price.

Well being that I was a neighbor of you and knowing that the cops were called out on you 3 times and that you had people living with you that obviously was not on your lease due to them parking in guest parking every day and not having a sticker that is one of the reason we never have guest parking available. Also who would want to keep having issues with the neighbors spitting down on them. Or how about this, think about if you have YOUR MOTHER visiting you from out of state and she is sitting outside and some one almost spits on her. Or maybe sitting there and having a lighter come flying down and hitting you. Well if you think this is ok then I guess they did nothing wrong. Living here for 7 1/2 years I know all of our neighbors and we haven't had any issues with noise or anything else before. I guess you have to think about what kind of people that wind up places that have NO RESPECT for anyone else!

Very interestng. I lived there from Aug 97-Dec 98. Rent for a two bed, two bath was $1005.00. The apt was immaulate. I never had any problems with anything in the apt, the staff was professional and very helpful, not to mention, gorgeous women. Well that was then. I guess things change with time. However you seem to be one of those people who violates the terms of the lease and dont pay rent on time. These types of peole usually complain the most.

I don't know the "behind the scenes" issues of why these folks were evicted but I CAN tell you this -- Monique Frett is a straight up -----! No doubt about it. I moved out in the spring and was slammed with a $400 bill after being told I owed NOTHING upon move out. I had issues with Ms. Monique from the day she stepped into that office. Before she came, my only real issue was my apartment had mice. But Amber and the manager before her were very nice, personable, professional people, this ----- here is another story. And forget about contacting the head office in Crystal City. They care about as much as she does!
