I'm moving out!

I pay 1285 a month for a 2 bedroom 1070 sq. feet apartment which I think is pretty cool.

I moved in August 2008-I liked it because they don't check credit and the pay was cheap especially for the location. When I moved in there was a special-something like they would return 320 of the administrative fee which is either 450 or 500 (don't remember) BUT i never got that! My lease is up next month and Ive been emailing them but they claim they have no idea what im talking about and that they cant find anything that says there was a special last year. So that kinda upset me.

Pros: Spacious apartment, huge kitchen, rooms are big, washer & dryer in unit, steps from public transportation, less than a mile from 2 395 exits.

Cons: There were bed bugs all over the apartment when I moved in, after contacting them several times-they finally exterminated those things, paper thin walls!-i can hear people walking really hard upstairs (it doesnt bother me) BUT the lady under my apartment came up to me and complained that I walk to much and asked that I keep it down after 10 for the same of her children (roll of eyes), UTILITIES! I pay 1285 for rent BUT pay about 245 for utililities now! The thing is i USE to pay 170 but it kept going up every single month. What I dont understand is how come im paying the same amount now (the summer) for gas that I did in the winter' The way utilities work here is not based on how much YOU use-its based on how much everyone in the building uses, divided by the square footage of your apartment and how many people live there. You have no control over that. Also my shower-ever since I moved in the water temp fluctuates-in in there taking a nice warm shower and then the next second is boiling hot and then its icy cold. I fight with my shower every morning and I have complained many times and it has never been fixed. One more thing-the front door to the building was broken for the longest time during winter. Why didnt they fix it fast enough' The neighborhood is safe but I would have felt safer if that door was able to close. It took them a long time to fix it.

This really isnt a bad place to live in, the whole community is big so there are several different parking areas assigned to guests. But I just really didnt like how utilities were charged, and the fact that I was attached by bed bugs when I first moved in. I have seen mice by the buildings that face the pool on the right side of the pool. Ive seen them outside by the stairs.

You did get a deal. I moved into my place in Feb of 2009 and I'm paying $1385(1355 30 for my pet)for a 2BR, same square footage. I was told I was getting a great deal because they lowered their prices due to the recession and housing price drop. Lucky me.
