Good Deal for the Price

These are my thoughts:

Cost - I pay a decent amount with no utilities. In this area, that's a steal. I love it.

Cleanliness - I have yet to see one cockroach, rodent, etc. I believe some of this is due to your neighbors and how clean they keep their apartment. Mine are great, I've never had an issue. I also live higher up, that could also be part of it. Just wanted to clear up that I have never had a problem with bugs. UPDATE: One week after I posted this, I saw a roach crawl up my wall. First one I've seen, I'm hoping there aren't more... I'll keep updating if necessary.

Washer/Dryer - Well, it's $1.75 per wash and $1.75 per dry ... that's $3.50 a load, that's ridic! (I want an in house w/d, so this is one of the reasons I'm leaving.) You also can only fill up your laundry card during leasing hour times, very inconvenient for people that do laundry on Sundays - so plan ahead.

Parking - I never have a problem parking. But if you have friends, good luck. The "guest pass" is a pain since it is only available to get during leasing office hours. They are closed on Sundays, and if you have a job, or plan sporadically, you will not get a pass, and your visitors will be forced to park on the street. The later it gets, the further they have to park. Plan ahead or good luck.

"Gated Community" - It may have a gate, but every time I order takeout they seem to make it to my front door without me buzzing them in. I don't really care, less work for me. Of course the buzz system does work when I'm trying to have a friend over. Hasn't really been an issue though.

The "convenience store" - Yea. All they are good for is an ATM and a soda. The food is outdated, and disgusting (freezer burn, torn, ripped, etc.). They no longer accept packages, which posed a problem since they didn't inform anyone. I was lucky enough to find out when I got a nice post-it from the Fed-Ex man. The leasing office pretends the store doesn't even exist, they don't know the number, their hours, or even what they do in there all day.

The staff - Unfriendly. Immature. Rude. If you don't have any issues (I've only talked to them when filling up my laundry card or getting a parking pass), you are fine, but they don't seem like the type of people you can go to with a problem.

Neighborhood - I've never had a problem.

Maintenance - I can't judge, I have never had to use them. Guess that can be seen as a good thing.

All in all, the Aspen is a good deal. You pay minimal for the area, and don't have to pay utilities! I discussed the little things that would annoy anyone, but if the Aspen allowed dogs, I would renew my lease. Will update after move-out in case I have any further details. Hope this helps!
