I had to pay an "amenity fee" when I first moved in. That's fine, most places charge something like that--when you first move in. The problem is, they published in thier Avalon magazine that they send to their residents that they were going to start waiving the fees for renewing residents. When the time came, they sent me the info on renewing my lease--the information mentioned nothing about paying the ammenity fee again, so I assumed it was waived. When I showed up to sign my lease, I was hit over the head with a $275 ammenity fee!!! Only then -- at the time of the renewal - did they mention that whatever was written in the magazine somehow did not apply. (BTW, this "amenity fee" goes to pay for, in part, office center with its 5 year old computers fax machine that never works).
p.s.: EXPECT ABOUT $200 or more a month for winter-time utilities! No Kidding!! I could sit on my couch and feal a draft from the living room window!

I just signed a lease here and the amenity fee at renewal time was made clear to me without having to ask about it.
