Avalon at Cameron Court

Just moved in - love it so far! From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 3/20/2008 Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2008   I just moved in to the community this week and I have to say I was a bit weary based on the reviews posted on this site. So far - I've been very impressed and satisfied with both the service and the unit itself. Keep in mind though that I'm coming from an ancient dupont circle apartment that had horrible service and horrible facilities (so pretty much anything seems nice to me at this point :) The leasing office staff here have been absolutly exceptional. They have gone beyond the call of duty on many instances and seem to be very organized and genuinly nice people - they've made my transition here very smooth and easy. I live on the end near the metro station and I was worried the metro noise would be a nuisance, but it does not bother me one bit (and you can hardly hear it at all). I've been sleeping like a baby ever since I moved here. Again though - I used to live on a busy street corner downtown so I probably have a higher tolerance for noise than some of you that prefer absolute silence). There are a few downsides so far though. The people above me walk around a lot and I can hear their feet stomping on the floor. The good thing is that they seem to go to bed early so it does not bother me when I'm going to sleep. Also there were a number of small issues inside my apartment (scuff marks on the bathroom floor, grout in bathroom a bit dingy, some laminate is peeling from the edge of a kitchen cabinet). Nothing major/ mostly cosmetic but I'll see if they fix these things or not. Lots of folks also gripe and groan about the cost - but honeslty to be THIS close to the metro and to have such large units - I think the prices are quite reasonable compared to other places I've looked at. (I checked out 20 different places all over northern VA and this was by far the best price for it's size, location and ammenities).
