For the most part, I enjoyed living here. I would have recommended it if it had not been for the horrible experience we had after we moved out.

First the positives:
Parking was normally good (other than when they were replacing the roofing) and the apartments themselves were in good condition. The shuttle that went to King Street Metro was dependable (I only took it in the am). The walk to and from the Eisenhower Metro was very manageable and safe. It is a very pet friendly community.

Now for the negatives:
The worst thing about Avalon was after we moved out they charged us over $150 for cleaning, despite the fact that we left the place completely spotless. When we called to ask them for an explanation they were very rude and not helpful at all. We asked for a list of the charges and the only document they provided was from an inspection done two weeks prior to when we moved out-before we had moved or cleaned anything. Only after numerous phone calls and discussions did we get our security deposit back. While I do appreciate that we were able to get it back, the fact that we were wrongly charged in the first place I believe shows how dishonest management is. If you do live here, make sure you take pictures of the place when you move out and be prepared to be charged for cleaning no matter how much cleaning you do on your own.

Another negative was noise. My bedroom was at the front of the apartment and anytime someone used the stairs it was incredibly loud. I was also able to hear a lot of noise coming from our downstairs neighbors.
